New Leaf Farms is offering a limited number of CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares for the upcoming 2016 growing season. Our CSA is a 16 to 20 week subscription* that entitles you to a ‘share’ of what our farm grows this season. By purchasing a share, you will have the opportunity to receive the freshest, best-tasting produce around while supporting local agriculture. You also become a part of our New Leaf Farms family.
How it Works
Purchase either a ½ or whole share and each week you will receive a basket with a variety of fresh, organically and locally grown produce. It’s like being a farmer – without getting your hands dirty! Shares are delivered each week to one of several convenient east side locations. Or, you are welcome to pick up your share on Saturday at the farm. As a member, your visits are welcomed anytime.
Unlike grocery store produce, even the organic produce (which are picked early to account for shipping and sitting on a shelf), at New Leaf Farms we pick at the peak of ripeness, so you are guaranteed to get the freshest, most flavorful and nutrient-rich produce possible. The only way to get it to your table fresher would be to grow it yourself!
At New Leaf Farms, we practice “Beyond Organic” farming techniques that promote optimal health for the plant and maximum nutrition and flavor from the fruit. We plant more than 50 varieties of fruits and vegetables each season, including an assortment of unique heirloom varieties.
There are a variety of great ways to enjoy our produce. From late May through September, our CSA membership offers great value and convenience with weekly deliveries. During the summer months, stop in at our farm stand, which is run out of our recently renovated barn. You can purchase an assortment of fresh picked produce and variety of other local products. And for those of you who want an authentic “farmer” experience, many people enjoy the value and quality of our U-Pick option.
Whether it’s for our top quality, organic produce or just to enjoy the country air, we invite you to come visit us at Silver Creek Farm any time of the year. Or simple place your order to become a member by selecting one of the options above.
*Mother Nature is a fickle lady, especially in Northeast Ohio, so the season start and finish dates vary based on variable growing season, we expect to start in late My/early June and finish in late September.
